Paleo to 40


I will be 40 in almost exaclty six months on August 31, 2013. I am a runner who is doing everything right except for one thing...what goes in my mouth. I am good sometimes and not sometimes. I believe in eating clean but sometimes I perfer highly processed salt coated bundles of goodness. My ass therefore will look like a highly processed salt coated bundle of goodness! That's not so good.

I met with my trainer today, Jenn McKinnon, who I love and used a few years ago and now she will be welcomed to torture and scold me again!! A job she says she looks forward to. I think she may perfer the terms train and support!! Jen is at V02 Max here in Grande Prairie, AB.

I am starting this challange to myself at 162lbs on Jenn's scale. I am not so concerned with what I weigh but how I look and feel. My ideal weight I think is about 140lbs but if I am 150lbs of muscle, I am down with that.

Today we did my fitness test and I ran a mile in 9:40 and then Jenn counted burpies and situps and box jumps. I will give you those comparison numbers in a month. I will also post some before and after pics when I am happy with the after haha.

I have a few races this year the Half or Full Run Wild in St Albert in May not sure yet which one see how I feel. I am doing Leg 1 of the Canadian Death Race in August. I feel pretty good just have my left knee that does not like to be hyper extended on the take off on my runs and my shoulder is a bit sore from always sleeping on the same side. I am interested to see how the paelo plan will help this.

I am going to blog my fitness and nutriton as a record to myself and for Jenn to see and anyone else who finds following it useful.
